Personal Review

Skyros is still one of the few islands spared from mass tourism, boasting traditional houses scattered over the island and lots of unspoilt beaches around the coastline. Skyros is a rather green island with lots of pine forest, although large areas went up in flames in 2007.

The windmill is part of a complex consisting of 4 buildings on a well looked after property. 3 of the buildings are for rent + an additional room, the 4th one is the home and reception area of the owner, Antonis, who usually welcomes the guests at the air-/port to take you to your holiday home. Antonis is a very kind, helpful and open person, yet fully respecting your privacy. Since he lives on the island, he knows all the good taverns and best beaches, car or bike rentals, flight, bus and ferry schedules etc. and he is always at your disposal.

This beautiful windmill on Skyros consists of 2 independent apartments that can be rented separately or together.

1. The ground floor

The ground floor apartment of this windmill consists of a bedroom with double bed, kitchen, toilet with shower and a sitting room with 2 sofas that convert into 2 single beds. The covered veranda invites to enjoy the wonderful view of the Aegean Sea and is furnished with a table and lounge chairs.

2. The first floor

The first floor sleeps two to four guests and is reached by a private entrance with a beautiful stone staircase.

Inside you will find the unique architecture and decoration of Skyros. In the circular comfortable open plan living space with two sofa beds, is a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, and one bathroom with shower.

Above the kitchen and the bathroom there is a loft with a private double bed.

On the veranda with the panoramic view of the aegean sea is a table and lounge chairs.

The property is located only 200 meters from one of the most beautiful beaches of Skyros sharing its surrounding green landscape with the Villa Skyros and Villa Eros. For larger groups, the entire property can accommodate easily 10 guests.

Skyros town is only 3 km away, but small shopping facilities are within walking distance. A tavern is only 600 meters away.

Skyros has its own airport (14 km away) which makes it easy to get to the island.
