Beachfront Apartment in Athens
The beach of Agia Marina is one of my favorite beaches in Athens as it is just far enough from Athens to not be completely overcrowded even in high season and yet it is only 45 minutes from the city center. It is a beautiful sandy beach, which, due to the rugged coastline, is always a little bit protected from the sometimes strong summer winds. From the house your view is directly to the Soutch, so you can follow the sun from sunrise to sunset. In the immediate vicinity there are various taverns and cafes and a little further away (10 - 30 minutes) there are plenty of taverns and a decent nightlife.
The real highlight of this property is the location. A house by the sea is already rare enough, but so close that you could throw stones from the terrace into the sea is unique. You lie in bed and all you hear are the small waves splashing on the shore. You wake up on a quiet, golden sandy beach and enjoy a refreshing swim long before the tourists come. By then, you are back on your own terrace to enjoy the whole event from a bird's eye view and in complete privacy. It gets really nice again when most people leave the beach and it gets a bit cooler. Then the beach belongs again to those who enjoy the sunset mood with an iced beer in their hand and let the balmy summer evening fade away. The mood is relaxed, the like-minded people uncomplicated and always friendly.
If you would prefer something more active, drive along the coast to Sunio where the Poseidon Temple stands or visit the center of Athens, both routes about 45 minutes away by car. Athens International Airport is less than 20 minutes away.
The approx. 120 sq.m. large apartment is located on the upper floor of the 10-unit complex and has a large, open-plan living-dining-kitchen area, appropriately decorated with driftwood furniture and furnished with comfortable sofas. Two large sliding doors extend the living area to the approx. 70 sq.m. large terrace. Nothing is missing in the kitchen, coffee machines of all kinds, modern cooker with ceramic hob, dishwasher, large fridge ... all you need for a beach holiday.
The apartment has one bedroom with double bed and one with a single bed, each have a sliding door to the terrace with the fantastic sea view. A third bedroom has two single beds and faces the garden. A corridor connects the rooms and gives access to two bathrooms - one with a shower, one with a bath tub. The larger, marble-clad bathroom has a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
Normally I only offer detached houses with private garden, but I have to make an exception for this property because it is so unique. The beautiful beach location, the fresh and at the same time modern interior, the reduction to the basics and the 3 tastefully furnished bedrooms make this apartment ideal for a family with children who, apart from visiting the famous sites in the center of Athens, also want to spend a few days on a sandy beach without complicated travels by boat.
